Memories & Candles
Don,
All of us in the Scruggs Family Association will miss Patricia. She was the most important early force. She always knew more about the family than most of us combined. I will miss her phone calls to me beginning with "Hello Prez!" We will miss her infectious laughter and her ready smile.

I knew Patty my entire life as she was a close friend of my mother, Judy. She was so funny and always knew how to get someone to laugh. I enjoyed working with her on making the first 1812 genealogy book and was amazed at how much of her heart and soul she put into the work she did. She was a treasure and her memory will always be very precious tome. Rest in peace, Miss Patty, I will miss you.

What a wonderful time remembering the day she wanted me to teach her how to drive a stick shift 1948 Chevy pick-up. She was an expert in no time. As she always one step ahead of you.

MIAMI, OK - The Staff, Tribal Members and Members of the Elected Council of the Modoc Tribe of Oklahoma are deeply saddened by the passing of Mrs. Trolinger.
Patti was an enduring spirit in the restoration of the Tribe from termination to prosperity and along with Chief Follis, put forth an effort beyond that of just an employee. Her dedication to her "tribe" is still felt to this day, years after her retirement from her duties. The Tribe will be forever grateful for her service and dedication to the historic preservation of the history of the Modoc Tribe of Oklahoma, and to the years of hard work developing and maintaining the Modoc library. Her tenacity reminds us of the fortitude of the Modoc people of the past and it is at least comforting now to think she is visiting with those heroes, Scarfaced Charley and Captain Jack, whose stories and history she fought so hard to preserve.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Don and the rest of the family at this difficult time.
