- Alan Trollinger went to his reward in Heaven on Sunday, August 7, 2016. He was surrounded by his family and friends. Alan was born on December 26, 1946 in Waco, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife, Beverly of 44 years and his son, John and his partner, Chad Cardani-Trollinger and countless friends, students and officer's in arms.
He was preceded in death by his son, Adam Trollinger, his sister, Janice Sue Trollinger and his parents, Adams Lafayette Trollinger and Albulah Trollinger.
Alan Trollinger was a retired Criminal Justice teacher from New Braunfels High School where here he lovingly mentored countless young people to find their path in life. He was also a retired Texas Peace Officer, working at both police departments and sheriff's offices. As a Police Officer he worked strictly in patrol and as a K-9 Officer with his beloved dog, Beau. He began his law enforcement career at Harris County as deputy sheriff where he worked in the jail, on patrol, as a saturation team member and for the crime control unit. He was a regular road patrol deputy, sergeant investigation, lieutenant, and staff level supervisor. He was FBI SWAT trained and active, long gun or sniper, certified crime prevention specialist, certified instructor in patrol tactics. At Comal County he was lieutenant, assistant jail administrator. He held the position of Sheriff's Administrative Aid, County Department Head as Jail Administrator for Burnet County. Alan worked with the ALERRT folks training officers across the state in Active Shooter Response. He was a TCOLE Firearms Instructor, and simulator instructor. He held a jailers license, a basic, intermediate, advanced, and master peace officers license in Texas. He was also a Licensed CHL/LTC Instructor, certified ALICE (Run, Hide, Fight) Instructor, and taught basic, intermediate, and advance weapons training including handgun, and multi-weapon transition for self-defense, home defense and business or institutional defense. He instructed Texas School Guardians, and Run, Hide, Fight to school districts. Alan proudly served in the US Army as a combat medic during the Vietnam war.

He was so loved by his family and inspired many people in his lifetime. He will be greatly missed.
Public visitation will begin Tuesday August 9, 2016 at 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Oakwood Church with Pastor Ray B. Still officiating. Interment will follow in Comal Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be given to Oakwood Baptist Church or to the New Braunfels Masonic Lodge #1109 AF&AM.

Public visitation will begin 5:00 PM Tuesday at Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at Oakwood Baptist Church with interment to follow in Comal Cemetery.
