- Mrs. Alta Dunn Schenley of Blairsville, formerly of Butler, died Monday Nov 8.
Mrs. Schenley was the widow of William H. Schenley, who was a former partner in the Crawford Jewelry Store in Butler in 1924.
After leaving Butler, the couple moved to Weirton, W. Va., where he operated the Schenley Jewelry Store. After his retirement in 1954, they went to Treasure Island, Fla., where he operated the Schenley Apartments on the Gulf until his death in 1968.
Mrs. Schenley moved to Blairsville in January 1971.
She was born and reared in Millvale, and was a graduate nurse of Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was a past matron of the Wheeling Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and was active in numerous organizations.
Surviving are two sisters Mrs. Robert O. (Beulah) Crawford Sr. of Butler, and Mrs. Rena Mateer of Follansbee, W.Va.; and a brother Lewis Dunn of Blairsville.
Funeral services were held Monday in Blairsville, and entombment made Wednesday in the Memorial Park Mausoleum, St. Petersburg, Fla.
