DIES AT HOSPITAL Funeral services for George H. Siehl, 67, second veteran of the Johsntown Police Department to be summoned by death within 23 days, will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. in the Franklin Street Methodist Church. Mr. Siehl died at 5:30 p.m. yesterday at Memorial Hospital of a heart ailment. He had been under an oxygen tent since last Tuesday as physicans sought to save his life. Mr. Seihl, famililarly known as "Butch" had been a member of the Johnstown Police Force more then 26 years, being appointed October 13, 1913. He had served in various capacities, but mostly as a patrolman in the business center. His health had been inpaired for several years, following an incident in which he was struck by a an automobile, and in recent months was assigned to light duties at headquarters. Patrolman Michael Seeley, another vetran of the local police force, died at Lee Hospital February 2. George H. Seihl was born at Meyersdale, Somerset Co. on March 30, 1873, a son of Daniel and Arminta (Hare) Seihl, deceased. Before coming to Johnstown he was engaged in the butchering business in Somerset Co. Mr. Siehl was an independant candidate for Sheriff of Cambria County in 1933, but was unsuccessful. Surviving are his widow Mrs. Barbara (Rowe) Siehl and these children; George Siehl Jr. at home; Albert Siehl; Irene wife of Vincent Hartnett; and Matthew Siehl. Also 16 grandchildren survive. Mr. Siehl was a brother of, Charles Siehl; Mrs. Mary Herring; Mrs Bessie wife of Charles M. Tressler; Mrs. Margaret Gibbons; Ida wife of Charles E.Tressler and Annie Wiland; Alice Barker. Mr. Siehl was a member of the Franklin Street Methodist Church, of Daniel Webster Council No.700, Jr. O.U.A.M., and the Frathernal Order of Police. The remains are at the Goucher Funeral Home, Vine Street, to be on view until time of fineral on Wednesday. The service in the Franklin Street Church will begin at 1 p.m., conducted but the Rev. William K. Anderson, pastor assisted by the Rev Sidney V. Carmany, pastor of the First Evangelical Church. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. Ritualistic funeral services will be held in the Gocher Funeral Home Chapel tomorrow at 7:30p.m. by Daniel Wedbster Jr. O.U.A.M.
