    • Mrs. Florence Druliner Hood, age 71, of 1012 Harrison Street, passed away in Holy Family hospital at 3:20 am today. She had been in the hospital for the past three weeks.
      Mrs. Hood was the widow of Homer M. Hood. A native of LaPorte, she was widely known in the city. She was a member of the Christian Science church. Surviving are one son, Allen K. Hood of St. Louis, MO., who has been in LaPorte for several days and two brothers, Leonard R. Druliner of Seattle, Wash., and Ambrose Druliner of Los Angeles, Calif. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 tomorrow afternoon at Cutler Brothers chapel. Burial will be in Pine Lake cemetery. The body may be viewed at Cutler Brothers chapel.

    • Letters from my grandfather to my grandmother while he was seeing to her affairs when she was in the hospital were dated the last week of December 1933. I'm guessing that she died around that time. In looking through the letters that I have, I found letters that had been sent by Florence Druliner to Emily Vail. I wonder if she died before Florence and when they went through her stuff, they gave them back to Florence. One letter was from my grandfather to Aunt Emily and Aunt Kate Vail. This doesn't make complete sense to me since the envelop was addressed to Miss Emily Vail. If they were cousins or sisters-in-law, it might be that they were called aunts but actually weren't related by blood.
