Notes - This is great! The railroad connection makes lots of sense. My Grandfather Allen Hood was a solicitor for the railroad out of St. Louis. His dad, Homer McCaskey Hood (Florence Druliner's husband) was a comptroller for one of the railroads. In fact, they moved around a bit - LaPorte, Michigan, Mobile Alabama. I also have letters from the McCaskey family (Homer's mother was Mary Ellen McCaskey, daughter of Jacob McCaskey) which talks about taking the McCaskey accommodation to Chicago which I assumed was a railroad car or rail line.
