- Obituary - Mrs. Shaw
Estella Louise Drullinger was born June 27, 1876 at Champaign, Ill., and died April 6, 1932 at the Methodist Hospital, Norton, Kansas, at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 10 days. In her early childhood her parents moved to Chester, Nebraska and from there to Oberlin, Kansas, in 1887.
She was married to George Herbert Shaw September 23, 1894. To this union were born five children: a daughter and four sons Glynn H., Guy W., George E. and Gayl D.
Mrs. Shaw leaves her husband, three sons, six grandchildren, all of Oberlin, and three brothers, Charles Drullinger, of San Francisco, Calif., and Earnest Drullinger of Hickman, Calif., and Harry Drullinger of Cope, Col. Her parents, two sisters, a daughter and Gayl preceded her in death. Gayl's sudden death was a cross which she bore beautifully, thereafter redoubling her efforts to live a life of service, particularly among the young people.
Mrs. Shaw was raised in a Quaker home. She early gave her heart to Christ and in 1890 united with Methodist Episcopal Church in Oberlin. Our sister has been an all-round member of her church.
She was a regular attendant upon its hours of worship. She worked faithfully in every department of the church - the Sunday school, the Woman's Home Missionary Society, the Ladies Aid and The Board of Stewards all had the considerable help of the efforts she put forth for her Lord. She leaves many places to be filled.
Her family, her church and her many friends all have known her as a very unselfish character which fact has made for her a multitude of friends.

Mrs. Shaw's death followed a major operation at the Methodist Hospital at Norton for an ailment that had been troubling her for some time. She must have felt that death might result, as she had, unknown to her husband and sons, made preparations in a number of different ways foe her funeral.
In the writer's opinion Mrs. Shaw was one of the very best women of Oberlin or vicinity; one whose life of unselfish service to family, church and community will always be a precious memory to her friends.
