  Because she identifies herself as "Eva A." in the 1860 Census, I believe it is sound evidence that her birth name was probably Eva Angeline. In most of the other records I have seen, she is identified simply as Angeline. Additionally, I doubt she would have identified herself as "Eva A." (two words) if her name was Evangeline. (David H.
