- Harold D. Flatter of Fairborn died on Nov. 25. He was 87.
He was born Jan. 23, 1920, the son of the late Earl and Elizabeth (Trollinger) Flatter. Harold was a lifetime farmer and breeder of registered Hereford cattle.
He was a lifelong member of the Greene County Farm Bureau and the Byron Church. Harold served as a school bus driver for Fairborn City Schools for 35 years and on the Bath Township Zoning Board for over 30 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Ruth, in 2001; and a brother, Richard Flatter.
He is survived by three children, Barbara Singleton and husband Marvin of Fairborn, Judy Cooper and husband Chester of Xenia and Gerald Flatter and wife Sharon of Yellow Springs; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Juanita Morgan of Fairborn and Dora Mae Riggle and husband Les of Kettering; and a brother, Joe Flatter and wife Betty of Fairborn.
A funeral service was held Nov. 29 at the Byron Church with interment at the Byron Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Byron Church in Harold's memory.
