- Drollinger, Leo R. Age 74. Passed on December 4, 2014, after a struggle with PSP. Now at peace with his fishing buddies Bob and Wayne. Loving husband of Jane for 26 years. Father of Diana (Joe) Jaskolka and Daniel (Kristy). Step-father of Anita (Dan) Hauner and the late Brent Benjamin. Grandpa to Josh, Kayla and Samantha. Step-grandpa to Nathan (Mel) Gartz. Step-great-grandpa to Arwynn Gartz. Brother of Loretta Hansen. Uncle to Jeff (Barb), Jack (Joan), Steven and the late Scott (Debbie) Hansen. Also loved by other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the angels that have cared for Leo at Heritage of Deer Creek in New Berlin, and the nurses and staff from Homecare Hospice who were involved in his care. Memorial Gathering at the Funeral Home on Friday, December 12, at 4-6:45PM. Memorial Service at 7PM. Memorials appreciated to the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
Leo did not have Alzheimer's he was diagnosed at first with Parkinson's but six months later they said he had PSP which is Progressive binocular palsy when I looked it up on the internet it sounded more like Lou Gehrig's disease even though the doctor said it was a cousin to Parkinson's it did affect his mind although he knew everybody but his body deteriorated he was unable to eat solid foods and all his food had to be pureed he was in a memory care unit close to home.
