  Because she clearly and plainly identifies herself as "Miss Arena Macy" in her marriage record, a formal document, it appears apparent that 'Arena' is her true birth name. Her nickname of 'Rena' appears to be the shortened version of 'Arena'. Here name appears as 'Irene' in some places but it is probably a result of someone's misinterpretation of 'Arena'. She is identified as 'Rena Trullinger' in her death notice as published in Nodaway Democrat, Maryville, Missouri, Thursday, March 22, 1888 Page 5.
