- Robert A. 'Rob' Richardson
MARION - Robert A. "Rob" Richardson, age 47, of Marion, died at 8:25 a.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2006, at The Cleveland Clinic.
He was born Nov. 3, 1959, in Danville, Ill., to Robert E. and Bonnie (Keller) Richardson, who survive in Marion.
On April 14, 1979, at Greenwood United Methodist Church in Marion, he married Rebecca "Becky" (Drollinger) Richardson and she survives in Marion.
He was a 1978 graduate of Harding High School and 2000 Marion Technical College graduate with a degree in engineering.
He was owner and operator of Richardson's Colonial Express, and more recently an engineer with Signstrut in Delaware where he designed canopies for Shell stations and Dairy Queens.
Rob had a positive outlook and loved life. He enjoyed woodworking in his garage workshop where he crafted much of his own furniture and was a clock builder. A Hot Rod car fanatic, he enjoyed watching all kinds of car racing and had previously rebuilt a 1968 Camaro. Rob especially enjoyed being with all of his loving family.
He is also survived by mother- and father-in-law Robert and Peggy Drollinger of Sebring, Fla.; sisters-in-law Sara (Robert) Dailey of Marion, and Melissa (Delwin) Jordan of Conway, S.C.; brothers-in-law Robert G. Drollinger of Marion, and Jeffrey S. (Rhonda) Drollinger of Lakeview; and nieces and nephews Chelsea, Jeanna and Zachary Dailey, Kevin, Scott and Lindsey Drollinger, Dirk and Mickey Haley, all of Marion, Jordan and Kyle Drollinger of Lakeview, and Megan Jordan of Conway, S.C.; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 10, 2006, at Prospect Street United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Luke officiating. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. today, March 9, 2006, at Boyd Funeral Home. Burial will be held in Marion Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert and Jeffrey Drollinger, Robert Dailey, Rod, Roger, Ron and Don Keller, and Rod Allen.
Memorial contributions can be made to Crosswood United Methodist Church, Heart of Ohio Dialysis or charity of the donor's choice.
