- Roger D. Beaty, 62, of Hoopeston died at 9:37 p.m. Tuesday (Feb. 9, 2016) at Presence Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
He was born July 9, 1953 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Charles and Ruth (Neal) Beaty. He married Vickie Clyden on April 2, 2004 in Hoopeston, Illinois. She survives.
He is also survived by his mother, Ruth Beaty; three daughters, Holly (Jason) Irvin, Shannon (Joshua) Shumate and Kelly (Dakota) Okler; two step-sons, Jimmy Chism and Scott Chism; four grandchildren; his mother-in-law, Cindy Clyden and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; his first wife, Vickie (Drollinger) Beaty; his paternal grandparents, Elija Beaty and Ella & Woodrow Byrd; his maternal grandparents, John and Marie Neal; one nephew, Nick Doyle and his father-in-law, Donald Clyden.
Roger worked for the Hoopeston Police Department for twenty-one years as a police officer where he retired. He was a member of the Hoopeston Jaycees and Masonic Lodge #709. Roger was an avid Nascar and Chicago Cubs fan.
