He was the third generation owner of Leavitt Funeral Home and had attended Emmanuel Baptist Church. He is survived by three daughters Sally Tredway of Largo, FL, Susan Himes of Alpharetta, GA, Nancy Shaffer of Hendersonville, NC; son Robert Leavitt of Powell, OH; sister Catherine Dodds of Galion, OH, nine grandchildren, Mark Tredway, Randall Tredway, Kelly Brolly, Erin Hinshaw, Brett Shaffer, Carrie Shaffer, Cathy Robinson, Erica Sams and Joseph Leavitt and nine great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Drollinger Leavitt, three brothers Charles Leavitt, Ralph Leavitt, infant brother Carr T. Leavitt, Jr. and sister Elizabeth Meredith. Services will be Monday 10:00 am at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg with Reverend Bill Angel officiating. Burial will follow at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the funeral home.
