Born September 30, 1928 in Ava MO, currently residing in Sun City West, AZ, formerly of Spokane, WA passed away Tuesday, August 28th at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife, Susan; four children, Michael (Theresa Carnavale), Kent, WA, Mark, Gig Harbor, WA, Dr. David , Burien, WA and Kathy Milne (Scott) Palmyra, PA, and two stepchildren, Robert, Henderson, NV and Cheryl, Stanwood, WA., 10 grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren. He also leaves one sister, LaVerne Nelson of Kennewick,WA, as well as other relatives and many friends. He earned his BA in Education from Central WA College of Education and his Masters Degree from Whitworth College. Paul served in the US Marine Corps from 1952-1954. He served in School District 81 as an educator and coach for 30 years holding the positions of Basketball Coach and Athletic Director at Shadle Park High School from 1959-1968. He also was Central Administration Student Activities Coordinator K-12, 1973-1982 and a member of the National Federation Basketball Rules Committee from 1977-1979. He was awarded the state's "Athletic Director of the Year" in 1979, retiring from School District 81 in 1982. He was inducted into the WSSAAA Hall of Fame in 1993. After retiring from School District 81 Paul worked 19 years as a Registered Representative for Interpacific Investors' Services, Inc. The family asks that memorial donations be made to Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E Flower Street, Phoenix, AZ 85014 or charity of donor's choice. At his request there will be no services. His family is planning to celebrate his life at a later date. Henley served 32 years in the Spokane School District, including 23 as athletic director at Shadle Park. He coached basketball there from 1957-66, compiling a 102-66 record. He retired from education in 1982. Paul passed away due to the ongoing complications and progression of his long-term battle with prostrate cancer which eventually spread. (Per David H.
