- BURLINGTON-Mr. Otis Sellars, 88, of 4836 Widow Foster Rd, quietly passed away while surrounded by his family at his residence.
Born in Caswell County, he was the son of George "Buck" Sellars and Clara Trollinger Sellars, both deceased and the husband of Jearlene Hurdle Sellars, who survives. Otis was also predeceased by a son, Dennis Sellars, two sisters, Gladys Juanita Sellars and Margie Sellars Ireland; and seven brothers, Claude, Curtis, Elijah, George "Duke," John, Herman and James "June" Sellars.
In addition to his wife of the home, Otis is survived by one daughter, Debra S. Patrick (Tracy) of Burlington; one son, Otis Daniel Sellars of Burlington; one sister, Verilea Williamson (Elijah) of Burlington; five grandchildren, Christopher Ratliff, Christina Ratliff, Joshua Sellars, Taylor Patrick and Tayanna Patrick; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mr. Sellars' homegoing celebration will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2020 at 12:30 pm at Alamance Funeral Service with Pastor David P. Lowe officiating and Pastor Emeritus James Swain, Jr. performing the eulogy. Burial will follow in Stoney Creek AME Church cemetery.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, social distancing will be observed with a limited amount in attendance. The family will receive friends thirty minutes prior to Mr. Sellars' funeral service in the chapel and all other times, at the home.

Public viewing will be held Monday, Oct. 12, 2020 at the funeral home from 1:00-8:00pm.
