HOOPESTON - Rosalie Jean Drollinger, 73, of Hoopeston, lost her courageous fight with cancer at 3:15 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2014, at home. She left this world to rejoin several of her very dear friends in heaven.
Rosalie was born on May 25, 1940, in Hoopeston, the daughter of Richard Earl and Edna (Goin) Franklin.
She married James Drollinger on July 6, 1958, in Hoopeston. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Cindy Larson of Mackinaw and Linda Drollinger of Hoopeston; two sons, James Drollinger of Mackinaw and William Drollinger of Watseka; daughter-in-law, Tiffanie Drollinger of Watseka; six grandchildren, Derek Dean Page, James Michael Drollinger, Matthew James Drollinger, Dane Larson, Hope Nicole Drollinger and her best pinkie buddy friend, Miss Abigail Rose Drollinger; sister, Betty (Larry) Rogers of Riverside, Calif.; nine nephews; 10 nieces; 17 great-nephews; 25 great-nieces; 28 great-great-nephews; and 27 great-great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, two brothers, two nephews, two brothers-in-law, special sister-in-law, Eileen Drollinger, and many wonderful friends.
Rosalie and her husband, James, owned and operated Aces Main Street Inn for 18 years. She was a member of the VFW Post 4826 Auxiliary and former member of Moose Lodge 127 Auxiliary. Rosalie enjoyed fishing, dancing and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and bringing sunshine to those around her.
A celebration of Rosalie's life will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, April 11, at the Brown-Alkire Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow the service in Floral Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
