He was born in Sheboygan Falls on Feb. 25, 1913 to William and Annie (nee Drollinger) Johann. He married Ruth Miller on June 18, 1973 at Olivet Congregational Church in Columbus.
Wally owned and operated Johann Plumbing in Neosho for 35 years. He was the fire chief in Neosho for several years. He was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Hustisford.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth; two sons, Gerald (Margaret) Johann of Horicon and Don Lee Miller of Neosho; a daughter, Barbara Ann(Donald) Daniels of Neosho; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Johann of Wabeno; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mildred Wolf of Hartford, Florence (Joseph) Menuier of Grafton, and Dorothy Weiss of Hartford; a sister-in-law, Agnes Johann of Phelps; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Zahn of Illinois. Wally is further survived by other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eugene; a brother, Marvin; a sister, Viola; and two brothers-in-law, Melvin and Willie.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 15 at 2 p.m. at St.Michael's Lutheran Church, Hustisford with Rev. Bond Haldeman officiating. Family greeted relatives and friends on Wednesday at the church only from noon to 2 p.m. Inurnment at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery, Neosho.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Michael's Building Fund appreciated.
Shimon Funeral Home of Hartford assisted the family.
