- Dorothy Sophie (nee Johann) Weiss, 96, of Hartford, Wisconsin, joined her husband, Willie, and son, Mark, on July 1, 2020. She died peacefully with her children at her side.
Dorothy, affectionately known as "Dot," was born in Jackson, Wisconsin, to William and Annie (Drollinger) Johann on July 31, 1923. She graduated from Hartford High School in 1940 and married Wilbert Peter Weiss on May 6, 1950 at St. Kilian Catholic Church in Hartford.
She worked as a welder for the West Bend Co. for many years and later at St. Vincent de Paul in Hartford. Dorothy enjoyed making beautiful cakes for weddings and other special occasions in her spare time.
Dorothy is survived by her son, David (Suzanne) Weiss of Manitowoc; daughter, Judy Weiss (special friend Matthew Reuter) of Milwaukee; three grandsons: Jason (Jenny) San Filippo of Milwaukee; Erik Weiss (special friend Phillip Ching) of Chicago; and Kevin (Michelle) Weiss of Peoria, Ill.; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Public visitation for friends and family will be held at the Shimon Funeral Home, 824 Union St., Hartford on Friday, July 3 from 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM. A PRIVATE Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Kilian Catholic Church. Private committal at St. Kilian Catholic Church Cemetery.
