- Ronald G. Leverenz, 81, died at 7:55 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010, Hoopeston, Illinois.
He was born on February 12, 1929, in Wellington, Illinois, a son of Charles W. and Gladys Johnson Leverenz. He married Gwendolyn Ann Drollinger on June 17, 1950, in Wellington. She preceded him in death on November 3, 2009.
He is survived by a daughter, Jackie Leverenz of Hoopeston; a grandson, Darren Conrad; a great-granddaughter, Briannna L. Conrad; a sister-in-law, Betty Leverenz; and two brothers-in-law, Robert Lockhart and Robert Totheroh.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Lyle and Kenneth Leverenz; and two sisters, Marilyn Lockhart and Louise Totheroh.
Ron was a member of Wellington United Methodist Church. He was a mail carrier in Hoopeston for 32 years, retiring in November 1993. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict.
