James Ira Andrews, 71, died in a Muskogee hospital Thursday after a brief illness.
Funeral services were held at the Smith Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. John Moreland, pastor of the Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial was in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Born January 4, 1898, in Harrison, Arkansas, Andrews has been a McIntosh County resident for the past 3 years.
Survivors include his wife, Eula of the home; six sons, James Calvin of Santa Monica, Calif., Earl, Dearl, Freddie Mack and Orville, all of Checotah, and Floyd Edwards of Los Angeles, Calif., a daughter, Mrs. Norma Jean Burks of West Los Angeles, California; 21 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Roy Andrews of Muskogee and Turner Newberry of Lancaster, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Youngblood of Lamont, Calif., Mrs. Lena Brandon of Checotah, and Mrs. Verna Skaggs of Springfield, Missouri.
