- Covington, IN - Patricia O. Abernathy passed away July 24, 2018 at 10:40 pm in Covington, IN with her family by her side. Patricia was born on Wednesday, November 13, 1935 in Catlin, IL the daughter of Guy Francis Sr. and Ruth Marcella (Rudd) Drollinger.
Pat married Kenneth Richard Abernathy on May 5, 1955 who preceded her in death on October 5, 2007. Richard and Pat raised six (6) children, Scott (Susan) Abernathy of Reno, NV, Stanley (Tonya) Abernathy, Rick Abernathy and Jeff Abernathy of Covington, IN, Kenny (Marianne) Abernathy of Lafayette, IN and Michelle (Richard) Tolbert of Perrysville, IN.
Besides her husband Richard, Pat was preceded in death by her parents, step-mom Naomi Jones, two sisters Linda Rickets and Evelyn Luke, one brother Edwin "Sonny" Drollinger, one granddaughter Shannon Abernathy-Arrue and one grandson Bruce Abernathy.
Besides her children, Pat is survived by four sisters Vivian Evans and Norma Cordes of Danville, IL, Candace Drollinger of Port Townsend, WA and Penny (Steve) Davis of Mohomet, IL, two brothers Guy Francis Jr. "Pete" Drollinger and Robert (Fran) Drollinger both of Oakwood, IL, 13 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Pat graduated from Catlin High School. Pat married Richard, her husband of over 52 years, and raised her family in the Covington area.
There will be a private, family, graveside service at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Covington, IN on July 26, 2018. DeVerter Funeral Home in Cayuga, Indiana assisted the family with arrangements.
