  	ORLANDO, Fla. Carl Edward Shurr, 75, of Orlando, Fla., formerly of Danville, passed away Thursday, July 14, 2011. He was born Dec. 16, 1935, in Danville, the son of John Shurr and Frances Curtis Peterson. He was in the pest control business. Surviving are his wife, Paula Shurr; a brother, Bob Shurr; and sisters, Kay (Nick) Barrett, Ruth (Fred) Pancoast, Mary Jane (RIchard)Johnson, Linda (Bob) Pyles and Carol (Dan) Deeken. Also surviving are his children, Jacqueline Christinsen, Teletha Ashcraft, John, Brian, Steven and Alicia Shurr, who resides in Danville. Also surviving are stepchildren, Peggy (Mark) Ames and Julia (Commander) Gharagoazloo. He was preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Herb Peterson; sisters, Marjorie Kiser and Martha Cordes; and stepson, Robbie Gillis. Per Carl's wishes, his remains were cremated. There was a memorial service held Saturday, July 23, in Orlando, Fla. Local services will be held at 1 p.m., with the chapel opening at 12:30 p.m., on Saturday, Aug. 13, at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel, 100 N.
