FRANCES I. TANNER
Frances I. Tanner, 76, of Richwood, died Tuesday afternoon, May 16,
2006, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus.
A 1948 graduate of Magnetic Springs High School, she was retired as
owner/operator of the Villa/Hotel Restaurant in Richwood for manyyears.
She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and
great-great-grandmother. She enjoyed being around and taking care of
people and animals.
She was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Union County. She was predeceased byher
mother and father, Otho and Elsie Drollinger Dilsaver; step-father,Ezra
Green,; two husbands, Louis Tanner and Sidney Spurlock; threebrothers,
Foster, Bill and Chester Dilsaver; and two sisters, Mabel Fields andVirginia Bush.
Surviving are three daughters, Beverly (Gordon) Brown and Becky (Ed)
Penix of Richwood, and Pam (Denny) Mathys of Raymond; three sons,Donald
Tanner of Bucyrus, Jim (Angela) Spurlock of Richwood, and Billy
(Beverly) Spurlock of Marysville; 19 grandchildren; 37
great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Stofcheck
Funeral Home, Richwood, where funeral services will be held Saturdayat
11 a.m. Burial will be in Price Cemetery. The Rev. Fred Cheney willofficiate.
The deceased's grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Tanner family in care of the
funeral home at 201 S. Franklin St., Richwood, OH 43344.

Tanner, 90, died Wednesday, Oct, 8, 1997 at Marion Manor. The formerRichwood resident had been in failing health for several years.She wasa member of Community United Calvary Church and the Richwood VFWAuxiliary.Native of Springfield, she was born May 11, 1907, a daughterof the late Elmer and Myrtle Wycoff Doss. Her husband, John Tanner,whom she married in 1924, preceded her in death in 1960.Surviving area niece and two nephews. Nine brothers and five sisters are deceased.Graveside services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at ClaibourneCemetery with Rev. Fred Cheney officiating. Ballinger Funeral Home isin charge of arrangements.
