  	Mary Briles Anderson, daughter of Oliver and Katie Briles, was born March 29, 1919. She passed away Sept. 25, 2000, at the Lucas County Health Center in Chariton. There were many things that Mary liked to do. One of those was to work at the Senior Center which she did for about 18 to 20 years. She went to country music jams about four nights a week and also enjoyed listening to gospel music. Mary enjoyed rodeos and she was a big Chicago Cubs fan. She enjoyed collecting stuffed bears, all kinds of knick knacks, and many other things. Each thing she collected held special memories for her. Mary belonged to the Eagles and she used to bowl on the Eagles Auxiliary bowling league. She liked to go shopping in Des Moines when she got the chance. She was always thankful when people took her places and bought her things. Mary enjoyed visiting with her friends and spending time with her family. She looked out for others and gave to them generously. She is survived by her children: Mike of Chariton, Emmet of Melrose, Mass., Roger of Oskaloosa, Toni Banks of Moline, Ill., Robin Anderson of Leon, Iowa, and Mary Ann Wells, also of Leon. Her son, Steven, preceded her in death five years ago. Memorial services were held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2000, at the Fielding Funeral Home with the Rev. Carla Hillyer officiating. Burial was in the Chariton Cemetery. Honorary bearers included Debbie Dyer, Lori Graves, Sandy Shelton and Trenton Brown. THE CHARITON LEADER, Chariton, Iowa, Tuesday, October 3, 2000

He was the son of Mary Briles Anderson, Michael was the middle child of seven children. Michael worked as a newspaper carrier for the Des Moines Register from age ten to sixteen, then as a doorman for the Ritz Theater and later as the Manager of the Ritz for eight years. Michael would then take a position with the Lucas County Law center as a dispatcher for over 29 years. Retiring in 2002 due to health issues. During that time, he was also a member of the Police Reserves. Michael was saved and came to know and love the Lord in October 2000, one month after the death of his mother. Michael was a kind, loving person touching the lives of many in numerous ways during his life. Michael was preceded in death by his mother, brother Roger Druliner and bother Steven Anderson. Michael leaves behind sister Mary Ann Wells of Leon, Iowa, brother Oliver E. Childress of Boston, Massachusetts, sister Toni Rae Banks of Moline, Illinois and sister Robin Anderson of Leon, Iowa and many nieces, nephews and friends.
