Brian Kirby Nelson, 67, of Klamath Falls went home to be with the Lord Jan. 14, 2014, with loving family at his side.
Kirby was born in Everett, Wash., Sept. 9, 1946, to Charles and Ilenna Nelson.
He entered the Air Force in 1966 during the Vietnam War and served a tour in Thailand. In 1968, Kirby married his high school sweetheart, Sharon, in California. After his military service, he entered the electronics industry in Silicon Valley and attended San Jose State University.
An engineering job brought Kirby and Sharon to Klamath Falls, Ore., where he worked in Sky Lakes Medical Center from 1976 to 1986. During the 1980s, Kirby and his brother Steve went into business together, forming NelTec Medical Engineering. Subsequently, Kirby joined the Oregon Air National Guard's 173rd Fighter Wing at Kingsley Field, where he retired in 2000.
In retirement, he enjoyed restoring cars, riding motorcycles, boating, fishing and being with family.
Kirby is survived by his loving wife, Sharon; five brothers, Steve, Kerry, Charles, Blake and Bill Nelson; and nieces and nephews who loved him very much.
The family will have a private graveside service.
