Mother turns 92-yrs. (Photo) On her 92nd birthday anniversary, Mrs. Mary Drollinger of 838A N. State Street, performed what would be considered an unusual feat for a person even 10 years younger. She visited the Ukiah Daily Journal Woman's Page desk to be interviewed and "sat" for her picture.
Mrs. Drollinger seems not a whit older than the daughter Mrs. Deana Teel of San Jose who accompanied her. They talked about addresses and she remembered them as well as her daughter.
Her figure is slight and her hair white but there is no indication in her movements that she will be a century old in eight years. She has a pleasant smile and a ready laugh.
Arriving in the world on May 26, 1878, Mrs. Drollinger was delivered in Arbuckle in the Sacramento Valley by that old long-legged bird. So she's a native Californian.
Mrs. Teel was one of the four children of her family who came for her birthday. Others were Vila (Mrs. Gus) Erickson, 690 Catala Court, Santa Clara; Mrs. Freda Bohn, Santa Rosa, and Arnold Willson, Portland, Ore. It was the second time in 54 years that the family has been together.
The four children were all reared and educated in Willits. Their father Charles Willson was killed in a mill accident there on Sept. 9, 1916. So Mrs. Drollinger was a widow until her later marriage.
The family gathering about the birthday table at Fjord's Smorg-ette with the 92 year old mother as honor guest was an unusual sight yesterday.
