Walter A. Schepansky died at home January 18, 2009 after being in poor health for some time. He was born in Detroit, Michigan, April 2, 1925 the son of Walter A. Sr., and Janet Paton Schepansky. Predeceased by parents, daughter, Carole Diane Schepansky; brother, George Schepansky; sister, Ruth Ann Carnett; son-in-law, Henry Farabaugh. Survived by wife, Coralie; daughters, Karen Schepansky, Kathy (Paul) Waldren, all of Tucson, Jane Farabaugh of Cresson, PA; sons, John and Daniel Harrell; grandchildren, Jeanne (Andy) Simpson of Cleveland, OH,Jerry (Lisa) Waldren of Aurora, CO, Kristina (Aaron) Gipson of Maricopa, AZ, Jessica Harrell of FL and great-grandchildren, Robert John Simpson, Tyler Gipson and Ethan Gipson; brother, James Schepansky of South Dakota. Walter joined the US Navy at 16 served on destroyers as a cook. Settled in San Diego, CA after WWII, became a cook in restaurants. In the 1960s went to work for M.M. Sundt Construction at Vandenburg AFB in CA, after the Titan Missile project was complete Sundt sent him to Southern California then to Yuma and finally to Tucson in 1964 and retired from there in 1988. The familys heartfelt thanks to the TMC Home Hospice Care. Walter requested cremation and no services to be held. Cremation by HUDGELS SWAN FUNERAL HOME. Any memorials in his memory may be made to the TMC Hospice program.
