Leonard Lee (Joe) Trullinger, son of Isaac and Dorris Jordan Trullinger, was born at Farragut, Iowa, on July 16, 1927, and passed away at his home in Marco Island, FL on Saturday, Aug 9, 1997. Leonard grew up in Farragut and graduated from Farragut High School in 1944. He joined the army in 1945 and was stationed in Seoul, Korea. He returned home in 1948 and attended the Chicago College of Medical Technique. He graduated from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine and began work at the Methodist Hospital in Omaha, NE. He was called to the Korean War in 1951 and served in the 8055 Mash Hospital as an x-ray technician. He returned home in 1953 and married Alice Winther, a registered nurse at Clarkson Hospital. He continued as an x-ray technician until 1959 when he went to Fort Bliss, Texas and worked as an electronics instructor at Hawk Missle. He returned to Korea in 1963 as a government representative with Hawk Missle. He went to Vietnam in 1965 as a government representative with Hawk. He began work in 1970 with the Federal Administration at Jacksonville, FL and continued to work at JAX International Airport until his retirement after 27 1/2 years of government service.
Preceding him in death was his father Isaac. Survivors include his mother Dorris of Farragut, his wife Alice of the home in Marco Island, one son Michael of Miami, two daughters Linda Abbott and Anne Foster, both of Naples FL, a daughter Karen Crisp of Fernandina FL, seven grandchildren, a brother Jerry Trullinger, and a sister Faye Bredensteiner. Mrs. Trullinger and Mrs. Bredensteiner attended the service in Marco Island on Aug 13.
