A Short History of Ellsworth County by Inez L. Wyman Essick
      Chapter 6
Langley township, an area of thirty six square miles, is in the southeast corner of Ellsworth County
One of the several stopping places in Langley township was on Mule Creek at the farm home of Aaron Trullinger who kept the mail in his house and was appointed post master of Mule Creek post office. The Trullinger farm was about three miles west of the present town of Langley, and the post office was discontinued about 1885 when the Missouri Pacific Railroad established a station and post office at Geneseo in Rice County.
