Howard E. Richards, 89, of Wenatchee, passed away Monday afternoon, Feb. 23, 1998, at Colonial Vista Convalescent Center.
He was born March 30, 1908, in Yale, Okla., to Elijah Grant and Rosanna (Edmonson) Richards. Mr. Richards moved to Oregon in 1923 in a Model T. He has been a resident of Wenatchee since March 1942, moving here from Woodburn, Ore.
Howard and Wilma Trullinger were married Dec. 26, 1930.
He has worked as a maintenance supervisor for the Eastmont School District for 28 years. He was a member of the Free Methodist Church since he was 12 years of age and was noted for his faithful attendance and support. He served as Sunday school superintendent and was a class leader. He was also a member of the Retired Public School Employees Union. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and traveling, particularly to Hawaii, Alaska and various places in the United States with his camp trailer. He enjoyed playing practical jokes.
He is survived by is wife, Wilma Richards of Wenatchee; his daughters, Ruth and her husband, Lee Knowles, of Wenatchee, and Ruby and her husband, Bill Blunt, of Chelan; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services are under the care of Betts Funeral Service, Wenatchee.
