- James Henry Andrew Bredensteiner was born March 17, 1926 in Shenandoah, Iowa, the son of Geroge and Margaret (Mikkelson) Bredensteiner. He passed away on December 29, 2012 at the Corning Nusing and Rehab Center in Corning, Iowa at the age of 86.
Due to his mother's death, Jim was raised by his aunt and uncle Carland Lizzie Neve. Jim graduated from Westboro, Missouri then entered the United States Calvary and later the Army, serving his country proudly overseas for two years. He married Faye Trullinger of Farragut, Iowa on July 6, 1947. They were happily married for 65 years and this union was blessed with three children, Terry Sue, who died in infancy, Bruce and Janet.
Jim and Faye farmed for the first 10 years of their marriage and then moved to Farragut in 1957. Jim worked at B.F. Goodrich then for Campbell and Bickett's store in Farragut as bookkeeper and sales man for 22 year the Farragut community and in his UCC Church. He loved sports and outdoor activities, playing cards and reading. But his greatest joy was being with his family, especially his grandchildren. He always made time for those he loved and attended every sporting event of his grandchildren that he could. He left many wonderful memories.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his children, Terry Sue in1948 and Bruce James in 2001; and brothers-in-law, Leonard and Gerald Trullinger.
Survivors include his wife, Faye of Corning, Iowa; his daughter, Janet Owen and her husband Jeff of Corning, Iowa; grandchildren, Jodie Thompson and her husband Randy of Ozark, Arkansas, Robbie Bredensteiner and his wife Colleen of Irvine, California, Scott Owen and his wife Trisha of Villisca, Iowa, Dustin Owen and his wife Brooke of Lenox, Iowa, Kimberly Owen and Ryan Morris of Lenox, Iowa; 10 greatgrandchildren; sisters-in-law, Loretta Trullinger of Marshalltown, Iowa and Alice Trullinger of Naples, Florida; along with many other relatives and friends.
