- E. C. Rundell, 87, of Dayton, died Wednesday, August 14, 2013, at the Liberty Healthcare Center in Liberty. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 24, 2013, at the Old River Baptist Church in Old River, TX. Burial will be held at a later date at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton. E. C. was born January 15, 1926 in Delhi, LA, to parents; Tucker and Edna Rundell, a former resident of Livingston, and has resided in Dayton for the past 10 years. He was a veteran of the US Navy with service during WW II, a retired construction foreman from Whitelak of Houston, and attended the Old River Baptist Church and the Park Place Masonic Lodge #1172 AF & AM. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Rundell was preceded in death by his parents: Tucker and Edna Rundell, daughter: Rebecca Lynn Trullinger, and brothers: Clyde Rundell and William "Bill" Pillars. He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Betty F. Boone Rundell of Dayton, daughter: Deborah Parker and husband Hewey of Dayton, son: Gregory Rundell and wife Del of The Woodlands, grandchildren: Chelsea Rundell, Travis Rundell, Don Satterwhite and wife Jennifer, Misty Conroy, and Pete Conroy, Molly Dardar, and Jennifer Farmer, five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, or Old River Baptist church building fund!
