- Thomas D Trullinger, 76, of Dauphin, passed away on Sunday July 30, 2023 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his family.
Born January 20, 1947, in Harrisburg, he was the son of the late James Trullinger and Mary (Fuhrman) Steiner. On May 3, 1974, at Hope Presbyterian Church, in Dauphin, Tom married Diane M. (Wilson) Trullinger with whom he shared a devoted union of 47 years prior to her passing on May 4, 2021.
A 1967 graduate of Central Dauphin East High School, Tom had worked in railroading for 43 years - initially starting with the Pennsylvania Railroad and retiring from Norfolk Southern. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed canoeing, hiking, hunting and bike riding as well as tending to lawn and home. Tom also enjoyed history, particularly the Revolutionary and Civil War periods and frequent trips to Gettysburg - all of which either began or ended (or occasionally both) at the Dobbin House Tavern. He was a member of Clarks Valley Zion Evangelical Congregational Church.
Tom is survived by his son, Jamie L. Trullinger and his wife Gwen, of Dauphin and two daughters, Jessica E. Trullinger-Fickes and husband Doug Fickes, of Mt Holly Springs, and Tara M. Trullinger and her fiancé Gregory Trahan, of Harrisburg. He is also survived by a sister, Richelle Price and her husband Lynn, of Barnsdall, OK and his faithful canine companion, Brady. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Georgianna Trullinger and two brothers, Richard and Donald Sellers.
His arrangements and interment in Friends Cemetery, Halfmoon Township, Centre County, will be at the convenience of the family.
