- Kay S Hill passed away peacefully on January 17th, 2025, at the age of 79. She was surrounded by her husband of 39 years, both daughters, and he dearest friends.
Kay was born in the small town of Lorane, Oregon in Sept 1945 to Lowell and Greek Drullinger. She was the 4th of 6 children. Kay grew up in Junction City Oregon, graduating from Junction City High School. She then went on to trade school for Bookkeeping.
After high school she married Rod Stevens. They moved from Oregon to California ending up in Fresno. They had 2 wonderful daughters. Life had some challenges and Kay and Rod divorced. Kay was attending Northwest Church single group where she met Harry Hill, and they married. They moved to the Sacramento area for 6 years and relocated to the Clovis area where they have lived for the past 34 years.
Besides working as a bookkeeper for 50+ years, Kay kept herself busy raising her 2 girls and serving at her church. If you attended church with Kay she would have been one of the first people you would see, she had a passion for greeting and getting to know the people she attended church with. You may have been to a swim party at her house after church in the summers.
Kay remained a valiant member of her church serving in many callings besides greeting. If she knew your birthday and phone number you received a Happy Birthday text or the entire Birthday song. You may have been given a ride to or from church, or doctor appointments, or grocery shopping. She loved helping others. There were plenty of holidays we had additional people joining the family for a meal.
Kay?s passion for baking increased after retirement. She was known to have a variety of desserts at any function. She would do practice runs of recipes, tweaking them to perfection. If you lived close there was dessert headed your way. There was a time she was asked to make a lemon pie for a birthday. In Kay?s style she made 5 different lemon pies and the family was called together to critique the pies and give an honest opinion. The ?best ?pie was made for the party.
You could always know where Kay was by her contagious laugh. There was a family joke that if you lost Kay go to the loud speaker and tell a joke and you would find her.
Kay is proceeded in death by her parents, Lowell and Greek Drullinger, her brothers Donny, Charles, and Bob Drullinger, her son in-law David Shaw.
Kay is survived by her husband Harry Hill, 2 daughters Tonya Shaw and Kelly Stevens, 3 Grandchildren Mike and Kim Shaw, and Kyle Bradshaw.
A celebration of Life will be held at New Hope Community Church 4620 Nees Ave Clovis, Ca 93611. January 31, 2025 @ 11:30.
