- During our telephone conversation yesterday, 27 Mar 2012, JoAn explained to me that her name was meant to be 'Jo An Leister'(pronounced 'Joe Ann') but ended up as 'JoAn'. Because 'JoAn' is so much like 'Joan', she simply ended up as 'Joan' (pronounced with the long 'o' sound as in 'phone'). (David H. Drollinger 28 Mar 2012)
I had called and spoke with Joan (520-731-3228 in Tucson, AZ), the wife of George, not long ago wanting to know more about their branch of the family tree. She told me that George's brother, John Williams Druelinger was more of the 'expert' regarding those matters and that he would be interested in talking with me. She said she would discuss it with him. So, today, 27 Mar 2012, I received a call from Joan. She told me that John had just gotten out of the hospital following an angioplasty procedure (he had a coronary stent installed) and would still be very interested in talking with me. However, it would be best to wait 7-10 days before contacting him allowing him some time to recover. John is now retired as a vice president of the Federal Reserve banking system. His telephone number is 314-739-8107. He lives in St. Louis County, Missouri and he is about 79 years old. Joan also told me that her husband's full name is George Williams Druelinger and that George and John share the same middle name. And she said that he had been an accountant and was forced to retire at age 54 following a stroke that affected his memory. Joan also told me she had heard of a town in France by the name of 'Druelinger' or something close to it. I told her I would investigate it.
