- Judy Rae Druelinger went home to be with her Lord on November 21, 2020 at the age of 64 in Edmonds, Washington. Judy was born in Mountain Home, Idaho to her parents, Chester and Clydene Druelinger. The family moved several times, her father being in the Air Force, living in Idaho, Texas, Hawaii and Florida before eventually settling in Kenmore, Washington, where Judy graduated from Inglemoor High School in 1975. She was active in her church, Northlake Lutheran in Kenmore, and led the youth group soon after high school in many adventurous and fun activities. Affectionately known as F.O.G., Friends of God, many became lifelong friends. Judy attended the ITT Peterson School of Business and studied family life ministry at Lutheran Bible Institute. She went on to several business positions including the University of Washington in Seattle, Tenney's Toyota in Lake City and at Professional Entertainment in Bellevue.
Judy truly loved God, life, her friends and family. She also loved traveling and had hoped one day to visit Africa to see her beloved elephants in the wild. She especially enjoyed trips to Vancouver, B.C., with friends, loved mountains, the ocean, and shopping. She was an avid collector of elephants of all sizes and shapes, and drafted a sweet children's story about "Peter, the Elephant" that was not published. It was a tale modeled after one of her cute stuffed elephants who got lost then found by his family and friends after wandering off. Judy loved music, all kinds of music, and would often comment as a song played, "Oh, that's my favorite!" Every song was her favorite one.
Judy referred to herself as a "Prayer Warrior," and prayed fervently for all she knew or knew of. With her health declining in recent years, she knew this was something she could do for, and give to, others, and she gratefully prayed with love in her heart. She didn't complain, and always wanted to know how others were, and what was happening in their lives. Her friends were an extension of her family and she had great love for every one of them. She was truly an angel on Earth and will be missed by all who were blessed to have known her.
A quote found on her Facebook page:
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them, but then an entire life to forget them.
Judy is preceded in death by her mother, Clydene Druelinger. She is survived by her father, Chester Rae Druelinger (Noreen) of Yuma, Arizona, and many dear family members and friends.
Judy was laid to rest next to her beloved mother at Evergreen-Washelli Cemetery in Seattle, Washington, on December 21, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, Judy's wish was for remembrances to be made to her home church, Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 12810 - 35th Ave. SE, Everett, Washington 98208.
