- Ruth R. Waggoner, nee Riley, 90, Washington, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2016, in Defiance.
Ruth, daughter of the late William Riley wife Daisy, nee Druellinger, was born Aug. 20, 1926, in Augusta. She received her education at the Gasconade School. On June 1, 1942, she was united in marriage to Earl Waggoner. Ruth was a member of St. Peter's UCC in Washington and the VFW 2661 Ladies Auxiliary, where she was also former president. Ruth was employed by Hazel, until her retirement in June of 1992.
Ruth is survived by one daughter, Brenda Kerns, Leesburg, Fla.; one son, Barry Waggoner and wife Laurie, Defiance; two brothers, William Ray Riley and wife Laura Mae, Kansas City, and Gerald Riley and wife Donna, Hermann; one sister, Mearldean Lewis, Big Springs; four grandchildren, Skaife Jones, Benjamin Waggoner, Danielle Long and Elizabeth Fischer; 14 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Waggoner; parents, William and Daisy Riley; son, Bud Waggoner; step-daughter, Maxine Loveless; brother, Calvin Riley, and sister, Edith Perkins.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 12, at Nieburg-Vitt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sue Leary officiating.
Interment was in the Gasconade City Cemetery.
