  	ORIENTAL -- Mrs. Maxine Childrey Trollinger, 89, born Feb. 24, 1914, died after a short illness on Jan. 6, 2004 at Craven Regional Medical Center in New Bern, N.C. An Alamance County native, the Childrey/Trollinger families owned and operated Childrey's Hosiery Mill in Haw River, N.C., for 32 years. She was the daughter of Sarah Childrey and William Childrey, and the wife of Mr. Luke Watkins Trollinger, all deceased. Mrs. Trollinger was a longtime member of the Haw River United Methodist Church. Survivors include daughter, Mrs. Linda T. May of Oriental, N.C., daughter Mrs. Irene T. Dailey of Tucson, Ariz.; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Services will be conducted by Pastor Jim Reed of Haw River United Methodist Church in Haw River, N.C., on Friday, January 9, 2004 at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Alamance Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home in Graham, N.C., on Thursday, January 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations should be sent to Duke Children's Hospital, 512 South Mangum Street, Suite 400, Durham, NC 27701.
