- Noah Charles "Chubby" Trollinger, 76, of Enos Drive, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2008, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Tyro United Methodist Church, where he was a member, by the Rev. Randy Foster. Interment will follow in Old Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Mr. Trollinger was born in Newport News, Va., on Sept. 9, 1931, to Arthur Trollinger and Mary Swicegood Trollinger. He was a retired employee of Roadway Express, retiring after 30 years of service. After retirement, he worked for Hanes Paving Company. He was a member of the Faith, Hope and Love/Willie Meachum Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Men and served on the Cemetery and Bus Committee at his church. He was a retired member of the Tyro Volunteer Fire Department and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Nancy Foster Trollinger of the home; a son, Wendell Trollinger and his wife, Corrine, of Lexington; two daughters, Ellen Rickard and her husband, Scott, of Lexington, and Cynthia Johnson and her husband, Paul, of Smyrna, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Biggerstaff, Brittany Trollinger, Logan Trollinger, Brandon Teague, Lawson Teague, Samantha Rickard, Ethan Rickard, Sonny Rickard; and two great-grandchildren, Tyler and Brian Biggerstaff.
