- SALISBURY - Mrs. Julia Trollinger Reed, 87 of Salisbury went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, August 18, 2007 surrounded by her family at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born April 25, 1920 in Salisbury, she was the daughter of the late Henderson Garland and Sara Roueche Trollinger. Educated in the Salisbury schools, she graduated from Boyden High School in 1938 and the Salisbury Business College.
She was employed with Belks and was a homemaker and during the war she worked with the Red Cross.
Mrs. Reed was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was active in her earlier years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde James "Spot" Reed on April 19, 1983, sisters; Elizabeth Beauzay, Neveda Sherry and Teresa Watson, and her brother, H. G. (Sonny) Trollinger, Jr.
Survivors include her daughters; Julia Reed Herrington of Charlotte, and Anne Reed Stevenson and husband Steve of Knoxville, TN, son, Christopher Gerard Reed of Salisbury, sister, Donna "Gay" Smith and husband Larry of Houston, TX, grandchildren; Jim Herrington of Milwaukee, WI, Reed and Elizabeth Stevenson of Knoxville, TN, and many nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 12:00 Noon Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Mark Lawlor of St. Vincent de Paul Church, Charlotte officiating. Interment will follow at the US National Cemetery, Government Rd., Salisbury.
The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 PM Sunday at Summersett Funeral Home.
