    • Sylvia Bradsher Trollinger, 65, of 911 Amity Road, Asheboro, died Monday, June 22, 1998, at Randolph Hospital.
      Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Sunset Avenue Church of God, with the Rev. Boyd Byerly, the Rev. Earl S. Tyson and Ken Helser officiating.
      She was a native of Roxboro, a graduate of Greensboro College and did missionary work in Brazil.
      Surviving are husband, Paul D. Trollinger of Asheboro; daughter, Laura T. Holland of Asheboro; sons, Mark B. Trollinger, George T. Trollinger, both of Asheboro; brother, John D. Bradsher Jr. of Blowing Rock; five grandchildren.
      The family will be at the church following the service.
      Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro, is in charge of the arrangements.

    • John Dewey Bradsher, Jr.
      December 11, 1935 - March 20, 2023
      Raleigh, North Carolina - John D. Bradsher, Jr., age 87, left his earthly life to meet his Maker and reside in His mansion of many rooms. His promise of an everlasting life of lights and love are too beautiful to miss.
      John was born Dec., 11, 1935 in Person County in the town of Roxboro, NC. As a high school student, he participated in the sports of football, basketball and golf. Following graduation from Roxboro High School, he entered the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he joined the Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity. After a stint in the Navy, he returned to UNC and graduated with a BS Degree in business administration in accounting. John served our country in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged on March 4, 1962. During his term in the Navy, on March 17, 1957, he married his loving wife Jo Ann Manning. Their ceremony was held at Edenton Street UMC in Raleigh.
      John worked as a Certified Public Accountant for 33 years, establishing offices in Raleigh and Cary. A Rotarian since the late 1960's when he was a charter member of the North Raleigh Rotary Club, John moved to Cary and joined the Cary Rotary Club. There he served on the board of directors, served as club treasurer for several years, and was the Cary Rotarian of the year in 1991-1992. He served as a Rotary District Officer in 1993-1994 prior to his retirement to the high country of Blowing Rock, NC. He maintained perfect attendance during his entire tenure with the Cary Rotary Club and received several Paul Harris pins from his membership in this and subsequent clubs in North Carolina. As a retired citizen of Blowing Rock, he volunteered his time to Watauga Medical Hospital for over 1,000 hours and volunteered as the treasurer of the Blowing Rock Methodist Church for five years.
      John was preceded in death by his parents; Dr. J. Dewey Bradsher and Annie Laurie Joyner Bradsher of Roxboro; his sister, Sylvia Trollinger of Asheboro. John is survived by his wife of 66 years (Jo Ann); his daughters; Debra Bradsher, Diane Bradsher Wilser, Jenny Bradsher Wells; several grandchildren' and great-grandchildren. His family greatly appreciates the loving care provided by Right At Home and Transitions LifeCare.
      John's service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Mon., March 27, 2023 at Hayes Barton United Methodist Church. A reception will follow the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hayes Barton UMC, 2209 Fairview Road, Raleigh, NC 27608 or a charity of your preference.
      Brown-Wynne, 300 Saint Mary's Street, is assisting the family.
