Aunt Nancie Trollinger, a resident of this community for the
past 31 years, died at her home near Shelburn on Thursday, March 10, 1927, the cause being cancer and the infirmities of old age. She was born in Cherokee Springs, South Carolina, on December 26, 1842, and was therefore, 84 years, 2 months and 15 days old. On September 24, 1865, she was united in marriage to Hosea Trollinger, and to this marriage, seven children were born. Her husband died several years ago. Six children survive as follows: Mitchell Trollinger, Elizabeth George, John Trollinger and James Trollinger, all of whom were with their mother when she passed away. Nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Trollinger united with the Baptist Church early in life in South Carolina, and had always remained true to it's teachings. Aunt Nancie, as she was lovingly called, will be missed by her many friends. She was the daughter of the late John Adam Easler and Lydia Matilda McAbee Easler, of Cherokee Springs, Spartanburg County, South Carolina. The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at he Shelburn church, with Rev. Frederick M. Landis, of Albany, officiating. Burial was in Miller cemetery.
