- ROGERS Charles Ernest Trolinger, 78, of Rogers died Wednesday at St. Mary's Hospital in Rogers. He was born April 8, 1925, in Amarillo, Texas, to Charles Ernest and Mary Alma Farish Trolinger. He was a former resident of Bella Vista and a longtime member of the Bella Vista Fly-Tyers Club, the Bella Vista Ambulance Board and the Bella Vista Community Church. He was a graduate of West Texas A&M University. He served in the Army Air Forces during World War II and in the Air Force 98 th Bomb Wing during the Korean War.
He worked for Diamond Shamrock, formerly known as Shamrock Oil and Gas Co., for 32 years, rising from accountant to vice-president for administration. He was a founding director of OIL Insurance Ltd., and was the first outside director of McQuery and Henry, Inc. of Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Ellen Bird Trolinger; one brother, William McDonald "Don" Trolinger; and two sisters, Maureen Trolinger Boxwell and Thelma Trolinger Bobbitt.
Survivors include two sons, Steven Charles Trolinger of Bentonville and James Lloyd Trolinger of Portland, Ore.; three granddaughters; two step-grandchildren.
The family will receive visitors 6-7 p.m. Sunday at Boxwell Brothers Funeral Home in Amarillo.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday in the Robison Chapel of First Christian Church in Amarillo. Burial will be in the Llano Cemetery in Amarillo.

Survivors include two sons, Steven Charles Trolinger and wife, Gail M., of Bentonville, Ark., and James Lloyd Trolinger and wife, Christina L., of Portland, Ore.; three granddaughters, Katherine Lee Trolinger and Grace Margaret Trolinger, both of Portland, and Emily Kate Trolinger of Bentonville; two stepgrandchildren, Jessica Hansen Lord of Jamestown, N.C., and John F. Hansen IV of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three nieces, Lynn Boxwell Crawford of Robert Lee, Jane Trolinger Hendrix of Murrieta, Calif., and Anne Boxwell Pierce of Abilene; and a nephew, Don Trolinger of Vacaville, Calif.
The family suggests memorials be to the Bella Vista Veterans Council Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 3085, Bella Vista, AR 72715 or to the C.E. Trolinger Memorial Library at First Christian Church, 3001 Wolflin Ave., Amarillo, TX 79109.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
