- STANLEY S. EHRESMANN A decorated WWII veteran, Lt. Colonel (ret.) Stanley S. Ehresmann served 22 years in the U.S. Army. He was born on December 24, 1916 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and passed away peacefully at USC Keck Hospital on November 25, 2013. His wife of 65 years, Elaine M. Ehresmann, preceded him in death on May 9, 2013. Stan is survived by his sons, Glenn and Stan; his daughters, Aurelee, Beverly, and Pamela; 8 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. During his 57 years of residence in Riverside, Stan worked in insurance, real estate, and investments. He also worked 13 years at the Navel Weapons Laboratory in Corona. Stan dedicated his life to public service through his active membership in fraternal, veterans, and civic organizations. He was a Mason in the Scottish Rite Free Masonry and belonged to the Al Malaikah Shriners, the BPO Elks, and the American Legion Post 79. He served generously on the Salvation Army Advisory Board. A dedicated life member of the VFW, he was the 23rd District Commander from 1987 to 1988. Stan also served as a member of the Jurupa Valley Chamber of Commerce. As an original member of the Riverside National Cemetery Support Committee, he was instrumental in the cemetery's development and its Medal of Honor program. Stan will be remembered for his legacy of public service and zest for life. Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at 11:15 am at Riverside National Cemetery, 22495 Van Buren Blvd, Riverside, CA 92518. Please be at Staging Area #2 no later than 11:00 am, Celebration of Life Lunch Buffet will follow from 1-3 pm at VFW Post #10267, 8607 Mission Blvd., Riverside, CA 92509. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made in memory of Stanley S. Ehresmann to the Office of Development, USC Keck Medical Center (323) 442-1757.
