Notes |
- Do not be confused, William was married to two different Mary Ann, Mary Ann nee Downy and Mary Ann nee Bailey.
I now believe William Brown Drullinger/Drollinger is the likely son of Henry Drollinger Sr. married to Nancy Brown and was born shortly after they were married. My further evidence is that of Marion Stoup Russell copy below. And, because he carries the middle name of Brown named no doubt in honor of his mother. (DHD Mar 2014)
Nancy Catherine was the daughter of William Brown Drollinger (and Catherine Ann Isely; Wm B Drollinger maried four times: #2- MaryMcAllister, #3-Nancy Howard, and #4 - unknown to Mrs. Weddington.) Nancy was the granddaughter of Henry Drollinger (m. Nancy Brown), who was the son of Phillip Drollinger (m. Hannah Kidd). According to Mrs.Weddington, records show Nancy Catherine sometimes as just Nancy and at other times, she was listed as Catherine.
Thanks again for the information and the rapid response,
Marion Stoup Russell
Today, I found your September 12, 1996 family-search listing for Drollinger - Trollinger - Trullinger. Some years ago (1979), I corresponded briefly with Mrs. Clyde A. Weddington of Peoria, Ill. She was the granddaughter of Mary Jane Drollinger, who was the daughter of William B. Drollinger and Catherine Ann Isely. Mrs.Weddington wrote that two of my ancestors were married to Drollingers: Cathrine Ann Stoup (married Henry Drollinger, Jr and Andrew Jackson Stoup (married Nancy Catherine Drollinger). Mrs. Weddington indicated that Andrew J.'s father died 9/18/78 and was buried in Oak GroveCemetery in Covington. I am seeking information on the senior Andrew Stoup and his parents. Should you have any information, I would like to hear from you. If you are interested in copies of Mrs.Weddington's letters, I would be happy to send them.

(Note: I strongly believe this enumerator was lazy and therefore abbreviated the birth state names and stupidly wrote the abbreviation "Ia" intended for 'Indiana' which was then misinterpreted by the subsequent transcriptionist as 'Iowa' which it properly is. My further proof of this lies in the fact that even many the young children listed on this page are shown with the "Ia" abbreviation when it is more than likely they were born in Indiana where this census occured. Additionally, I cannot find a single 'Indiana' birthplace on this sheet. Therefore, in this case 'Ia' means Indiana and NOT 'Iowa'.)
(David H. Drollinger 19 Apr 2012) I concur with Dave about the census taker, GLD 2012.
