LYNNWOOD, Wash. (Gray News) - A Washington state woman who police say was involved in a hit-and-run was taken off life support after suffering a fractured skull and brain damage.
Washington State Police say the hit-and-run happened at 8:51 p.m. on March 19 in Lynnwood when an unknown vehicle struck a pedestrian crossing the road and fled the scene.
The victim's family identified her as 30-year-old Taylor Druliner. After she was hit, she was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, according to a GoFundMe set up to help the family with medical bills.
Druliner suffered a fractured skull and brain damage amid other injuries, including a fractured pelvis and broken leg, KCPQ reports. She was taken off life support Saturday, and her organs will be donated.
?While Taylor's family will forever be broken hearted, Taylor will be giving so many families a new day of hope. Please keep her family in your thoughts, prayers, and close to your hearts. They need all the love possible right now,? wrote Rachel McCoy, the organizer of the GoFundMe.
Druliners family told KOMO she was a loving person who had just gotten a new job and would have turned 31 on April 8. They are calling for the person who hit her to come forward.
"We'd like some answers - Who? Why? You need to pay for what you did," said Will Myers, Druliner?s stepfather.
Police are calling for witnesses to come forward, saying their information about the incident is limited, according to the Seattle Times.
"We need the public's help," Trooper Kelsey Harding said. "There's not a lot of witnesses, there's no [license] plate and there's nothing that's really left behind."
A business? security footage captured a vehicle of interest, which appears to be a dark-colored sedan, possibly a Toyota Corolla. Detectives are asking witnesses or anyone with information on the fleeing vehicle to contact Detective Dan Comnick.
Meanwhile, Druliner's family is planning a celebration of life ceremony, the Seattle Times reports.
"Our daughter was a very sweet girl. She didn't deserve this," said Carol McKinnon, Druliner's mother.
