- On Wednesday, September 28, 1949, Lonnie Ray Trollinger, Sr., entered this world. He was granted the parentage of Elise Burton Trollinger and Ervin Lee Trollinger, Sr., Both of whom are at rest in paradise. Lonnie's life was full of adventurous times, events, and moments. He loved life and strongly encouraged others to enjoy life. His love for
family and friends made his life full of encouraging others to reach beyond any limit standing in front of them.
During the past 5 years Lonnie was in a covenant marriage to Janice Trollinger. Their love created a home full of laughter and joy. The house is full of family pictures and a unique collection of clowns. Their home demonstrates a place of humor and unexpected knowledge from Lonnie's Words of Wisdom. Early in Lonnie's life, he attended Pearson Elementary School and graduated from Hillside High School in Durham, North Carlina. He played football and weightlifting and learned to tailor. Lonnie also attended Sand Hill Community College.
Early in Lonnie's life was blessed to have a Bonus Dad and Mentor in the person of Mr. Ralph Bullock. Ralph helped shape the life of the Lonnie that we love today. In Lonnie's words, "Ralph Saved Me." Lonnie was known as the "Master Handyman." Whatever the project, he makes it his business to complete it to perfection. Lonnie worked as
an EMT-B for the state of North Carolina Department of Mental Health Services, where he retired after 25 years. What gave Lonnie the most joy and fulfillment was time with his wife Janice, his children, his brothers and sisters, his nephews and nieces, NASCAR, New Orléans Saints, collecting clowns, cooking, and working with his hands on projects around his house and the family homestead in Greenlevel, North Carolina.
Lonnie's departure has caused a great hole in the lives of many. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife: Janice Trollinger, his daughter Ona Trollinger; his son Lonnie Ray Trollinger, Jr. his wife, Kia Trollinger. He became the Bonus Dad to his son Christopher, his wife Shelley, his daughter Dana Marie, his son Gustin Vandiford, and his daughter Danielle Massenburg. His grandchildren will cherish his memory: Jemi, Nevaeh, Zaiver, Christian, Sylas, Peyton, Cora, Mae, and Cameron. Lonnie had a special place in his heart for his siblings: Patricia Dean, his twin Linda Trollinger and his extraordinary Brother in Love Ernest, Rev. Dr. Erwin L. Trollinger, Jr, Michael A. Trollinger, Sr, Felicia Simmons, and Kerry Shuler. His sister Andrea Enoch is at rest in paradise. Lonnie's special caring and tenderness include his 17 nephews and nieces and a host of great nephews and nieces from New York, North Carolina, to Georgia. Lonnie lived to make others' lives better and more fulfilling. He will be remembered for his birthday cards, calls, texts, and daily tick-tock sharing.
On Wednesday, April 19 th, 2023, Lonnie Ray Trollinger, Sr., was requested by his Eternal Father to enter paradise. Being a Believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, Lonnie submitted his will to the will of his Heavenly Father and entered into paradise.
