Notes - My thanks to Herr Heinrich Hormann of Stauffenburg-Mainzlar forcombing the church books and giving me the detailed chart on the Vogel lines. It was a thrill to get off the bus in Mainzlar and walk around the corner and see the house Johann Georg Vogel built. It was readily identified by the gold painted letters on the wood of the Fachwerk.Photo in the possession of Gordon L. Drollinger
I had the original white paper also known as the birth registration of Margaretha as it came down from Peter Ullmann. This was in 1976 while I was on a six month deployment to Wiesbaden Germany known as Brigade 76. During that deployment I had one day off. I thought I was going to visit Kirchberg and look around. Sinch I had a National Geographic may I believed at the time I knew where it was located. As it turned out it was not the same place. On the day I was headed to the bus station to go I had a powerful feeling that some thing was not right so I didn't go. As I learned further it would have turned out to be a wild goose chase..
