- Eugene's death certificate states that his father is unknown. The informant on his death certificate is his wife, Myrtle, who was the presumed supplier of that information. In addition, his newspaper death notice (also information no doubt supplied by his widow, Myrtle) states that he was the son of Ada Trollinger. Therefore, one would assume that his father is either unknown or undeclared by his mother, Ada, and may never be known.
He is identified Eugene Trollinger on his wife, Myrtle's 1960 Burlington City Directory.
He has no middle name per his WWII DRC.
He identifies his father as John Trollinger and his mother as Ada Trollinger on his marriage record with Myrtle Poteat.
So, who exactly is Gene's father, John?
His obituary states in part, "Mr. Trollinger was the son of the late Ada Trollinger"
